Sheppard “Bombs Away” album release
An opinion piece on the band Sheppard’s new album release, “Bombs Away”
March 12, 2015
Need to get pumped up? Want to start a revolution? This band has just the play list. Hit Australian indie pop band, Sheppard, just released their new album in America on Tuesday, March 10, “Bombs Away”, containing their debut US single, “Geronimo”. They have brought a strong and very entertaining aspect of their music to the US.
All of the songs in this album are entertaining and worthwhile. Some of them are very upbeat and light, while others are a bit darker than some, but even those songs have an aspect of light added to them, they will bring down the mood, make people think about themselves, but put a positive spin on it, it is about smiling when you want to frown, laughing off the bad.
One of their more popular songs, Geronimo has been rapidly ascending the charts in the US, and when listening to it people really see why. The song is very uplifting in an odd way. Because even though some are sad, they turn it around to make you smile, like adding a happy ending. it is about not being afraid to stand up and take a leap, which is evident in a part of the chorus where they say “make this leap”.
The whole album is very good, each of the songs is worth listening to, by which I mean there will not be a time when you will want to hit the skip button while listening to their intriguing mix of voices and there jovial-one-minute-then-inspirational-the-next list of songs.
There music is good, fun, and thoughtful. I would give it a five out of five star rating.
