Return of the Catapults
Physics Experiments Rolled Through the Hallways
On November 22, Catapults rolled through the hallways as students tested their experiments. This regular event was a product of the Physics department at SHHS, and many students are fond of this experiment’s hands-on nature.
“It was awesome,” junior Trenton Howlett said. “It was my first lab where I got to work with my hands and design something from scratch.”
Students worked on the projects from the week before Thanksgiving break until December 2nd. Many completing the assignment put in multiple hours of work into their creation, although not everyone that did got the reactions they wanted.
“I spent about seven hours total on the catapult,” Howlett said. “It didn’t go very far at first. It was really disappointing, I worked really hard on it and it went the shortest distance in the class.”
