December 4, 2013
Actor Paul Walker got into a red Porsche Carerra GT on Saturday at around 3:30 p.m. According to CNN, Walker ws in the passenger seat with Roger Rodas who was in the driver’s seat.
Walker was most famous for his role in the “Fast & Furious” movies. The actor was last seen by witnesses getting into the red Porsche after leaving his charity event to donate holiday toys for Reach Out WorldWide, according to CNN.
“It’s a terrible thing what happened to Paul Walker. It’s very ironic that it happened the way it did, and in a sad way, it shouldn’t have happened to anyone,” sophomore Adelyn Himle said.
The crash took place on a street in Santa Claria, California.
Security cameras from a building across the street from the crash shows the Porsche did not set fire until about a minute after the car hit a pole. The video on YouTube shows black smoke filling the air after two minutes of white smoke surfaced.
According to CNN the coroner and investigation reports show that speed and impact were a factor in the cause of death of the two occupants. A toxicology report will be released in six to eight weeks. The toxicology report will show if drugs or alcohol were a factor to the accident.
Walker’s father asked that instead of flowers, donations were made to Walker’s charity as condolence for his death. Commercials are being shown saying “When you buy “Fast & Furious 6” on Blu-Ray or DVD, a portion of proceeds will be donated to Paul Walker’s Reach out WorldWide Charity Organization which funds first responder efforts at crisis points around the globe.”
The production of the “Fast & Furious 7” will be on hold for a brief moment until the Universal
Pictures find a way to move on with the production; Universal Pictures said in a statement according to CNN.
Walker’s crash site is now a memorial site for fans, friends, and family.
