Holiday Cheer
Smoky Hill Chamber Music Club went caroling around the school.
On Dec. 20, 2013, Chamber Music Club carolled around the school during first period. The club divided into two caroling groups: one upstairs and one downstairs. The purpose of this activity is to raise holidays spirits and promote happiness. “We wanted to send people off toe Winter Break feeling happy,” freshman violinist, Ayanna Hwang said.
The caroling team was made up of cellos, violas, violins, and a bass. They went from classroom to classroom. They started from the orchestra room and ended in Tracey Sheil’s room. They played holiday songs such as “Jingle Bells”, “Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah”, and “Deck the Halls.”
Along the way, club members experienced difficulties in handling the instruments and equipments. “It was hard to carry the chairs for the cellos and deciding which classrooms to go to,” Hwang, said. “There was also a struggle [carrying the bass] up the stairs, but we made it!”
This event has been a tradition, for the Chamber Music Club goes caroling every year.
