Do you have to do that in Front of me?
Students take PDA to the next level
February 25, 2016
I wake up at 5:00 a.m. every morning because I personally like getting to school about 20 minutes early. Somehow, it relieves stress just to know I won’t be late. It’s peaceful because the parking lot is empty and there is no traffic that early. But one recent morning, I was very unpleasantly surprised when I noticed a couple in the in the car next to me “not having sex” the way Clinton and Monica Lewinsky “didn’t have sex.” So not only did I get to say goodbye to my relaxing morning, but I almost had to say goodbye to my breakfast because that’s just plain gross.
So, for those of you who did not make the connection, there was a couple having oral sex in the parking lot.
In general, I think PDA is highly unnecessary plain and simple. This took that even further.
When high school couples leave for class and don’t see each other for an hour and a half, all that is really needed is a hug and maybe a quick peck and that should be it. These cuddle sessions and intense makeouts in the hallways are getting out of hand.
I don’t see why this is happening because chances are these relationships really only take place in school. There is no reason for students to shove their physical relationships into other students faces.
I believe the best kind of relationships are the ones that have strong emotional and mental connections, but I don’t think I’ve walked by a couple during school talking about their deep thoughts. Instead, every corner I turn I get to see physical displays galore.
To me, it seems like students are insecure about their relationships to the point where they find it necessary to shove it point blank into other people’s faces. Could that be it?
I think that the difference between the squeeze of a hand and the squeeze of a butt cheek are very distinct, and I know I’m not the only one. Maybe students could be a little more thoughtful where they perform their displays of affection, because whatever happens outside of this school I couldn’t care less about, but Smoky Hill is a public place – not a hotel.
Whether it’s the never ending staircase, a car in the school parking lot, or even in a bathroom stall it is still a public school. and it should not be occurring on the campus. Take it somewhere private, that’s all I and many other disgusted students ask.
