One woman in Colorado Springs says that marijuana cured her 4-year old’s cancer. Mother, Sierra Riddle claims her son is cancer free but her son Landon is still taking marijuana. Riddle told CBS4 that Landon began with a CBD (the oil from marijuana containing a very low level THC). Today, he is “vaping”, where the heat activates the THC.

“He is 100 times better, and it’s hard to imagine because when we saw you guys he was 100 times better than he was a few months before,” Riddle told CBS4. CBS4 asked Riddle if she believes marijuana cured Landon’s cancer and she replied that she does.

Elisa Reid, Health teacher at Smoky Hill said, “We have a lot of opiates that have been used for centuries that help with medicine that are medicinal and used. However, when you’re talking about marijuana it depends on how much the kid [Landon] is taking. What we do know is that marijuana, for young people, has a much different effect than it does on adults. So it does affect memory, the hippocampus which is short term memory.There’s been studies that show that marijuana use in teenagers can cause psychosis so often times were looking at some psychological problems, we know that it’s addictive.” She said.
