To make Smoky Hill’s graduation more fun, upbeat and more meaningful the activities is looking for seniors with varied talents to participate in the commencement ceremony. seniors may audition for three types of performances, either speech and or dramatic reading or musical presentation. Scott Cohen said, “The best acts get pick, the four best get pick it just depends on how good they are.”
Regardless of the part for which a senior auditions, five copies of your speech, words to your music and/or dialogue must be presented to the judges at audition. If it is a group presentation, the group should considering staging size limitations, groups should not exceed eight students on stage. Individual or group must audition on the given date at the appointed time, tardiness may mean disqualification. Cohen said ,” You have to be a graduating senior wearing a cap and gown.”
It is NOT possible to audition any other day or at any other time than March 31. Judging will be based one the following content, delivery, organization, three-time limit speech. If you are one of the selected performers, you must attend special practices prior to commencement, Dates, times, and location will be announced at the mandatory pre-audition meeting on March 2. Important dates: Friday, February 28 Applications DUE to Laurinda McIntosh in activities by 3:45pm, Monday, March 2 Mandatory pre audition information meeting, Lunch 1 or 2, Room ll-116, Tuesday, March 31 Additions begin at 3:45pm, Room l-709. No senior may preform more than once , unless you are valedictorian or student government member. “If they are not graduating they do not get to preform,” said Cohen.
