The Denver Broncos are on their way to Super Bowl 50. The team defeated the Patriots 20-18, on the last playoff game of the season Sun. Jan. 24, taking them to the super bowl.
The last time that the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl was back in 2014 when they played against the Baltimore Ravens losing 43-8. This will probably be the last game for Peyton Manning who is planning to retire after the end of the 2015-2016 football season.
“I was really happy that the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl,” junior Karis Jentink said. “Because now it will make the Super Bowl a lot more entertaining and fun to watch.”
According to sfbaysuperbowl.com, Super Bowl 50 will be held in the city of Santa Clara at the Levi’s Stadium. The Broncos will be playing the Carolina Panthers, who beat the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 in the NFCs final playoff game.
“It should be a good match up between the two teams, especially when Peyton Manning is thinking about retiring,” Jentink said.
The Broncos decided to change the color of their uniforms from orange to white after they were given the chance of being the designated home team. According to espn.go.com this is a status that changes every year, the AFC champion team gets the status for even numbered SuperBowls and the NFC get the status for odd numbered Super Bowls.
The Broncos also decided to make the change to their uniforms after there were superstitions that the Broncos only won when they were wearing white uniforms.
“For the Super Bowl I plan to have a party with friends and family and cheer on the Broncos.” Jentink said. “ I really hope that our team doesn’t let us down this year.”
