“This is a message from Smoky Hill High School. We would like to take a moment to make you aware of some recent incidents that have happened in our feeder community.

The Aurora Police Department has shared with us that on two separate occasions a high school aged girl was approached by a Hispanic male in a red Jeep Grand Cherokee. He made inappropriate comments and attempted to entice the young lady to enter his vehicle.

In each case, the girl in question acted appropriately by separating herself from the vehicle and called the police.

We felt it was important to share this information with you, and we hope that you will take some time to discuss safety with your children and review with them what to if approached by a stranger.”
