Students Took the PSAT
October 14, 2015
Today, the PSAT Practice Test was taking place in different parts of the school. Certain students were able to have the opportunity to practice, and see how the test was.
“I was a little nervous, but when I sat down I felt better,” junior Zharia Rivers said.
The PSAT gives incite depending on where students want to go to school, and it lets you know what colleges will accept you depending on your score.
According to https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org, the PSAT measures college readiness and provides students with tools they need for the future. It’s a nationwide screening that they do when it’s being referred to the scores. The tests are focused on math, reading, writing, and language.
It’s reviewed and graded by specialists by analyzing the information fairly for every student. It lets them know if students are ahead or behind in certain areas.
The scores are specific content areas, and lets the graders know if students are good to go to college or not, in order to be able to receive scholarships.
“ I’m a little nervous about my score, but i’m not expecting a lot because I know it’s a practice,” junior Rivers said.
Each school is identified with ordered test booklets. This year the booklet was fifteen dollars, and approximately 3.8 million students are taking the test fall.
In the middle of Sep. students signed up for the practice test, and the practice test date was Oct. 14. It took place at the beginning of the day . Not much time was given in order to let the students practice for the test.
Rivers does not think that she had enough time to practice. “I think a few days off would have been practical,” Rivers said. “I was busy with a lot of school work. I didn’t have enough time to look at the packet.”
Students stated that it took a lot of time for the line to move and that there wasn’t enough time for them to finish the test.
