Devonte Santa Cruz, Staffer
Devonte Santa Cruz is currently a senior at Smoky Hill, in his first year of newspaper. Devonte joined Newspaper this year to pursue his dream in majoring in Journalism to become a Sports Analyst in the near future. Devonte plans to use this year to learn more about the Journalism program and continue to grow as a writer during the course of the school year.
Outside of newspaper, Devonte has a passion for sports. Devonte spends a lot of his time studying and watching Football, Basketball, Lacrosse, and other sports. He loves both college and professional sports, but he closely follows College Football & Basketball, Lacrosse, while also following the NBA & the NFL. Since he’s been growing up, Devonte has always been a fan of the University of Florida and supports all of their athletic clubs. He’s a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and also a huge Boston Celtics fan.
Devonte was born in Aurora, Colorado and has lived here since. He’s only been to two states his entire life, Kansas and Colorado. After this year, Devonte hopes to get the opportunity to go to school out of state to get a chance to experience something a little different.
Besides newspaper, the other activity that Devonte participates in is Lacrosse. Devonte has been playing Lacrosse since his freshman year at Smoky.
