One Last Time

One+Last+Time

The leaves are starting to get a little yellow, and the air outside is just a bit colder. Yet every year, students everywhere refuse to believe that summer is ending until labor day. After Labor Day is when everyone comes to the reality that summer has officially gone for the year. Well, this year, instead of mourning the loss of another summer, end it with a bang. This Labor Day weekend, do something fun and awesome rather than becoming a slave to Netflix for yet another weekend – be under the summer sun one last time.

It’s hard to be motivated and do something when nothing comes to mind, so for starters look around. This is Colorado! There are so many things to do and see in this gorgeous state that sadly one weekend could never cover it all.

Junior Trevor Runyan, has made plans to be with his family – and hundreds of booths full of food. The Runyan family has been going to The Taste of Colorado for a few years, and continues the tradition this weekend when this mouth watering event begins.

Trevor says, “Well [The Taste of Colorado] is crowded for one. It’s just up and down the street [with] a ton of booths. [Filled] with a tons of food and [things] to drink,” Trevor says that the event kicks off Friday September 4th from 11:30a.m. to 10p.m., and continues Saturday and Sunday from 10:30a.m. to 10pm, and ends Monday from 10:30a.m. to 8p.m. For more information go to http://atasteofcolorado.com/.

If food, music, and crowds don’t sound too appealing, maybe what this student is doing this weekend sounds more interesting. Aaron Ross says that for his Labor day weekend, he’s going to Top Golf.

Ross explains, “[Top Golf is] a three story driving range. It’s all electronic based, every golf ball has a chip in it [so you can] shoot at targets. [It also includes] a restaurant/bar. It’s just… It’s a lot of fun,”

Top golf is open Monday through Thursday from 9a.m. to 12p.m., Friday from 9a.m. to 2a.m., Saturday from 8a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday from 9a.m. to 12a.m. For more information go to their website at http://topgolf.com/us/centennial/pricing/.
This weekend is for you to be under the sun, enjoying friends and family’s company, or simply to enjoy the extra day of sleep. Either way, don’t end this summer season complaining about how the weather is getting colder. Enjoy the time that is left.
