There are many requirements to graduate for Juniors and Seniors that may be difficult, but there are more requirements for Sophomores and Freshman starting with the class of 2021.  The juniors and seniors have to get their 22 credits that consist of English, 4.0 credits, Math 3.0 credits, Science 3.0 credits, Social studies 3.0 credits, and Physical education 2.0 credits fine arts and CTE 1.5 credits and elective offerings 5.5 credits. They also have to the ACT and SAT testing. Where they need a 470 in English and for Math they need 500 for the SAT, while for their ACT, students need an 18 for English and a 19 for Math in the SAT.

Sophomores and Freshman now have to have all the same required credits, but they also have to have the skills necessary for college and career readiness which includes innovation, critical thinking skills, real-world experiences, problem-solving, curiosity/inquiry, relevance, working in teams, communication skills, project-based learning, and flexibility/adaptability.  They also have to do the Act and Sat, the next generation accuplacer –a reading comprehension test– and the district capstone tests– a secondary literacy test–.

All of these new requirements will be able to help students develop internal systems to prepare them for a successful future in their profession.  It will also help them learn new skills that they will need in their life as an adult. With the new requirements it will be able to help students that are a little slower to learn the same material that everyone else will be learning, and with that, it will raise the graduation rate in the state.
