Latino World Awareness
Smoky’s annual world awareness week will be on March 28th. Latino World Alliance will be performing.
“The latino world alliance students are doing dances to show how dance brings people together in their culture and how important it is to be together.” Spanish teacher Mrs. Walker said.
Those who are performing are working hard to create an enjoyable routine.
“ We’re practicing our dances, we will be performing dances like Bachata, Cumbia and Meringe (dances that originated in Spanish speaking countries.)” Freshman April Olivas said, “but currently we’re deciding the bonus.”
Many who are working on the performance are excited to show the school.
“I’m excited because we get a chance to show our peers at school what our culture is like, our traditions and how we dance.” Sophomore Laura Haro-Loera said.
