Drama club gets back to what it loves

Now that we’re all back together again and our groups and clubs are allowed to perform, these last few weeks of school are going to be filled with concerts, games, and performances from the drama club. The first one happens in just a week and a half.

“We’re doing two medleys of  ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and ‘Rent.’ Then we’re going to do six one-acts, all directed by students,” sophomore Zoe Waters, drama club’s paint head for the one-act shows, said. “The actors are all really good. You should come see it. I don’t really think you can, but you should. Everyone’s been working really hard on the show.”

The show will only be open to parents and families, for the safety of the cast and audience. But the group is discussing filming a livestream on Facebook for those who are unable to see the performance in person. The shows will happen the week of April 19-24. The one-acts will be performed the first three days, and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and ‘Rent’ the last two days. The cast, tech crew, and paint crews have all been staying after school and working for the last couple of weeks to perfect the show, and are really excited to see how it ends up playing out.

Students are really excited to see the shows after almost a year without performances. “Yeah, I really liked going to all the musicals they put on last year, I was kinda sad when they didn’t put on any shows this year because they were actually really fun to see, but I’m happy they’re doing another show like, soon,” freshman, Aliya Abing, says.
