On Friday, September 15, Smoky Hill High School tipped off the first pep assembly of the year in preparation for the Homecoming dance on Saturday night, September 16.

The school choir performed the national anthem, the cheer and poms team performed a dance and new class games were played such as the “Hungry Hungry Hippo” game.

Let’s not forget the new Senior class of 2k18 going all out for the pep assembly when it came to the Senior Chicks dance, the winning of the spirit stick multiple times, and a Senior boy dressed up as Moses from the Bible grabbing the spirit stick and “parting” the “red sea” of the Senior class in celebration of the multiple wins.

The Seniors brought a lot of excitement and school spirit showing the other classes how school spirit is actually done, and who’s the “best class”.

The Smoky Hill Staff also participated in the assembly going head to head in “Tug-Of-War” with the Senior class.

Senior girl and new student of Smoky Hill, Brittine Young turned around with a grin and burst out in laughter and said, “This was really fun, I enjoyed it a lot”.

The excitement and the amount of participation of school spirit today filled the hallways of Smoky and of the gymnasium bringing in so much joy, laughter, and happiness. The pep assembly most definitely tipped off Homecoming and the rest of the school year ahead. Go Buffs!
