Smoky Hill’s athletic department will be having camp for various sports throughout the summer of 2016.

While there are over 20+ varsity sports offered at Smoky Hill, there will only be seven sports that are offering summer athletic programs. Some are beginning at the start of summer, will others will offer a camp right before the season starts.

So, who can join? Any prospective students of Smoky Hill students, as well as students previously enrolled at Smoky Hill.

“We really take our sports seriously, and want our athletes as individuals and as a team to improve,” said Carol Whitaker, the athletic secretary.

The exact sports being offered are: boys and girls cross country, field hockey, boys’ golf, boys’ soccer, girls’ softball, girls’ volleyball, and boys’ tennis. Along with these, are football and cheer, in which an individual will need to get in touch with the coach personally.

The price range for each camp varies, with cross country being the most expensive, at $100 for a three week camp, and the least expensive is boys’ tennis, which is $50 dollars for four days. With each individual camp, different items will be part of the price, as some may include t-shirts, snack and water, and other miscellaneous items for participants.

In order to register, one must contact the head coach via email or phone call, and ask for the registration packet. They will require a parent’s permission and payment in the form of cash or check.
