Varsity Football Wins Against Arvada We

Bryonna Vanden Hout, Staffer

Saturday Sep. 12, Smoky Hill won 40-37 against Arvada West.

Defensive Coach (D-Train) Davis has been coaching since 1997. “I plan on coaching till I have to get rolled off the field, or at least until my youngest son graduates,” Davis said.

Davis loves football, and likes the competition of the sport. Davis played for the CU Buffs, and he tried out for the Miami Dolphins. Davis himself stopped playing football at the age of twenty-seven.

“I do feel confident about this game. I feel confident about every game,” Davis said.

#53, Landon Shultz, started playing football in fifth grade because he likes hitting people. Shultz plays both D-O line (defensive and offensive line). Shultz wants to play football through college.

#22, Greg Ross, started playing football in first grade because of his dad. Ross plays DB (defensive back). Ross also plays for the same reason as Shultz – they both like hitting people. Ross also wants to play football throughout college.

Ross’ and Shultz’s biggest supporters are their family and the coaches. Ross and Shultz plan on playing football until they can’t anymore or until they have to get “rolled off the field.”

Coach Davis, Ross, and Shultz all felt confident about this game.

The next game is Thursday, Sep. 17 at the Littleton Public School stadium. Show some of our school spirit, help amp the team and keep the smiles and happiness of winning going. The game is against Heritage High School. Wear your school colors and/or any Smoky Hill football gear to show that We Are The Buffaloes!! Lets Go Buffs!!
