Seniors! Do you see a teaching profession in your future, or do you just want to explore the idea of it?  Then you should consider attending the University of Northern Colorado’s Future Teacher and Teacher Cadet Conference on February 24.

This event will be held at the University of Northern Colorado’s campus in Greeley Colorado. The event is free for all seniors considering the trip. The program offers workshops and presentations that help students get a feel for what it is like to be a teacher.

“This sounds like a fun opportunity because I have thought about teaching as a job,” senior Emilee Habernal said. “ This would be the perfect chance to get a feel for it.”

According to learn.unco.edu, “During the event, students will gain information from UNC students, early career teachers, veteran educators and UNC faculty/administrators.”

While at the conference the students will get to experience different workshops. The conferences will include information on early childhood education, education technology, english education, and more. Students will also play games and receive prizes.

“I would want to teach at elementary school, so I would look into the early childhood education,” Habernal said.

In addition, students will be taken on a tour of the campus and be able to eat lunch at UNC’s Holmes Dining Hall.

Below is the agenda for the conference:

8:30 to 9 A.M.- Registration and breakfast

9 to 9:45 A.M.- Keynote Speaker

10 to 11:30 A.M.- Workshop number one

10:45 to 11:15 A.M.- Workshop number two
