The Lord of The Flies Games

A Real World Simulation

SurvivorThe Lord of the Flies game is based on the true book Lord of the Flies by William Golding that students in Mrs. Mullen’s MYP English nine class are reading as part of an assignment in room I-10. This week the students are beginning to start the in class games and are going to be tested based on how well his or her group complete the challenge.

Each day there is a different stage of the games that results in either good things or bad things happening to the group. Sometimes, individual actions affect the whole group and other times the whole group can get penalized for an action.

“So really its just a game of chance and it really brings up the emotions that come out in the book,” Mullen said.

The students are getting graded in a group project format and every activity that the students do is worth something. There is also opportunities to get extra credit and opportunities to loose points as well. The students will compete to see who gets the highest grade at the end of the games.

“I think it has been kind of a real world situation of a text which I think just makes it more interesting,” Mullen said.
