Emotions Fly High in Tough Loss on Senior Night.

Jair Thompson, Staffer

Smoky Hill Volleyball played a very fierce opponent in the Eaglecrest Raptors on Thursday October 20th. It was a very emotional night for the seniors as they knew it would be there last on the Smoky Hill floor. Senior Abbey Moffit, started off the games with the singing of the national anthem.

The emotional team gave everything they had in the tough loss and really made the Raptors work for the win. The Raptors had to truly fight to put our Buffaloes away winning two of the games by only three points.

Although the three to five series looks very one sided, two of the three games were very tight and came down to who finished better. Senior and volleyball player, Jordin O’Brien, played one heck of a night completely dominating the Raptors on the floor.

The atmosphere for the game was hype and so fun to be in and apart of. The girls fought hard and gave the 10th ranked team in Colorado all they had.

The Smoky Hill Junior Varsity team came out with a big win in their final game of the season completely winning their match-ups in all aspects of the game. They beat the Raptors two to zero in the three game series and played a great team game.

Our JV team is filled with a large amount of underclassmen which as a student makes me excited for the future. In their two wins last night they had to show a great amount of execution in the later parts of both games having to completely claw their way out with victories.

Overall it was not quite the night the Buffaloes had hoped for, it was one to remember for sure.
