Seniors choose to camp out for prank

The clean up began at 7 a.m. Cups, trash, and tents were packed up and thrown away. The class of 2016 had just finished their senior prank, and were getting ready to check out of high school. The reason this prank was chosen was to keep the juniors from parking in the senior parking lot.

The seniors had a few ground rules for their camp out. They couldn’t cause damage to property and people. Security was present at the camp out to make sure things were okay. The idea for the camp out was passed around on Group Me and by word of mouth.

For their prank, the seniors chose to camp out in the senior parking lot and listen to music, have breakfast, and enjoy their last day of having to come to school. Senior Alena McCann attended the camp out and had good things to say about it.

“My favorite part of being there was being able to spend time with people I probably won’t see again,” McCann said.

To keep themselves occupied seniors played water pong and danced. Senior Haley Simon enjoyed herself in a different way. “I slept for a good portion of it,” Simon said. “Some of my friends and I just kind of people watched.”

Even though many seniors attended the camp out some did not. One of those seniors was Kaylin Shaw. ”I didn’t go because I thought it was childish, and it really didn’t read as a prank,” Shaw said. “I also thought it was just too early in the morning to be at the school.”

Senior Justin Fuentes attended the camp out as well and had good things to say about it. “I thought it was pretty cool. We really stepped it up from last year. I feel like if more people participated then it would have been 10 times better.” Fuentes said.

Next year it will be up to the class of 2017 to come up with a prank of their own.
