Prom Disaster

A Prom Photo Gone Wrong

On April 12th 2014, 22 high school prom participants from Pierce High School decided to take a picture on a bridge outside one of the girls’ homes before their dance. This picture however; was no photo finish. The bridge the students were standing on collapsed beneath them sending them plunging into a four foot deep pond that lay under the bridge.

The group had decided to take the picture outside this year instead of taking the picture inside as they normally would do. The group choose the white bridge to take the pictures on and with the weight of everybody on the bridge at once lead it to collapse. The bridge was not able to stand the total weight of everybody on there together.

According to www.nydailynews.com “Alisha White, whose dad owns the Willow Creek property and bridge from which the group fell, said initially she felt “super upset” about Saturday’s incident.” In the end everyone was really nice to her about it and telling her it was not her fault.

Besides soaked outfits, nobody was hurt from the incident and everybody made it to the prom. Later a student posted the incident on twitter which went viral, already having been retweeted 60,000 times. IMG_0557
