Smoky Hill Band plays in a concert

The winter band concert started at 7:15 p.m. and lasted until 8:30 p.m. Dec. 12, 2013, in the Smoky Hill High School Auditorium. The concert featured all band classes from Smoky Hill.

The band classes are broken up into three bands; Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony. Each class has to play 3 to 4 songs in the concert last night.

Concert Band played “Creed” and “Caliber.” Symphonic Band performed “West Highlands Sojourn First Movement Stow on the World”, and “A Klezmer Karnival.”

The Wind Symphony has been working on four songs: “Sun Dance”, “Fantasia on a Theme”, “Danse Bohémien”, and a song with three movements called “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo.”

After the concert, the band members were greeted with an applause. “I am proud of our whole ensemble because we worked really hard for the concert tonight,” said Elisabeth Bristol, sophomore at Smoky Hill.
