Mr. Puga Makes Himself Known

AJ Olsen, Staffer

It’s not a secret that Smoky Hill’s new principal, Mr. Puga, has made an appearance to almost all of the fall sports and activities so far this school year. He was there to encourage students to follow their dreams and to get them prepared to leave the nest.

“I think it’s important to support all kids.I wanna make sure that while I’m here at Smoky not only do I go to athletics but I go to activities, band concerts, theatre presentations, those kinds of things. I’m a part of Smoky Hill, I wanna be a part of Smoky Hill. Plus it gives me a chance to meet kids and talk to parents.” Puga said.

A principal’s job is to shape a vision of academic success for all students. Creating a climate hospitable to education while improving instruction and managing people.

“Principal Puga would do anything to make the school a better place and learning environment. He shows that he really cares about the student and the school spirit by inspiring students to do better.”Junior  Gabrielle Kirk said

¨The principal has been very involved in students lives by going to athletic events, interacting with students in the hallways, and likes to walk into many classrooms since he’s been here. It’s important that Mr.Puga is out in our community because the students sees that the leadership cares about what they care about with their lives and their activities,” Social Studies teacher Ryan Vaughn said. “It’s also great as a staff member to see this because it inspires us to be to be more involved in our students lives both inside and outside classroom.”
