The Cherry Creek School District has a new honor to add to it’s list; the district has been named to Forbes “America’s Best Employers” list for the second year in a row.

According to forbes.com, the employees of good companies are one of the best sources of information to judge a company’s work environment. With that in mind, Forbes polled 30,000 U.S. organizations’ employees and came up with a ranking of 500 large employers and 250 midsized ones.

According to cherrycreekschools.org, The Cherry Creek School District was one out of seven education organizations to make the list. It was the only school district in the state of Colorado to be included in the list.

“It is pretty cool to go to a school or be in a district where the staff is really nice,” junior Wengel Tadesse said. “It creates a really good learning environment and ensures that we are getting the best education.”

The district moved up from number 143 on the list last year to number 92 nationwide in 2016. In order for an organization to make the list or be considered, organizations with 2,500 or more employees must fill out an anonymous survey that asks questions in five categories.

The survey was conducted by statistics provider Statista, working along with Forbes.  They asked the employees questions about what the working conditions are like, pay and hours on duty, promotion opportunities, and how much diversity they see in the workplace.

In making their decision about what organizations made the list, the survey analyzed employer attractiveness from the perspective of the American employee. The organizations were ranked based on the employee’s perception of their organization’s desirability. 1,100 different organizations had employees that were questioned in the survey.
“I hope we make the list next year at a higher number than we did last year,” Tadesse said. “I’m proud to be a part of a school where the teachers are respected and teach in a good environment that helps both teachers and the students.”
