Goretober Art Challenge

An Art Challenge for Artist That Enjoy Gore and Halloween

Krystal Limon, Staffer

GracieAccording to archiveofourown.org, Goretober is a 31 day drawing challenge for artist. Goretobers gives artists  a different and new drawing challenge everyday that revolves around gore. Sophomore Gracelyn Gutierriez (Gracie) is participating in this because she loves horror and she’s not used to the anatomy.

Gutierrez discovered Goretober last year “by going on tumblr, and I saw a lot people drawing gore and I was like what is this,” Gutierrez said. “I didn’t participate in it last year because it was already half way through, but I made sure this year I was on top of it.”

Gutierrez began drawing “Since I was little, but when I was actively drawing to get better, I was in the sixth or seventh grade,” Gutierrez said. Gutierrez is a self taught drawer and she took her first art classes in freshman and sophomore year of high school.

Her inspiration was her mom. “My mom was a major part of it, she is a part time tattoo artist and I would go through all of her drawings and try and trace over them. I think when I was younger I wanted to be a tattoo artist so i could practice all the time,” Gutierrez said.

Some of her favorite pieces to draw “Are animals because they are a lot easier to draw, you don’t need as much symmetry,Gutierrez said. “ I was really intimidated by people for a year and a half and then I just started trying. For all artist it’s not too late to start Goretober.”
