Girl Up is a organization that helps raise money to send to less fortunate girls in Liberia. Girl Up meets every red Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. The Girl Up colors are a bright pink and a bright blue.

“To me personally, Girl up is a great way for me to give back to other people who may not have had the same opportunities that I have. I get very excited when I see young women and the members of Girl Up help make a difference in a very easy way, by just volunteering, fundraising, and raising awareness and tolerance.” Michelle Kleve said.

Everyone is allowed to join Girl Up, including the guys of Smoky Hill. All classes are welcome to join up. “[All can join] because I think the lack of education and healthcare and all the issues that are in third world countries is not just a female issue, it’s a human issue.” Kleve said.

Smoky Hill can not change the name because it is apart of the United Nations Organization.

“We can’t change the name it is part of the United Nations Organizations so it’s a nationally branded name and because their are Girl Up Clubs and organizations all over the world we can’t change the name. Were just the Smoky Hill chapter of the Girl Up Club that’s through the United Nations.” Kleve said.
