Review:

Richie Keen gives an amazing movie full of humor and excitement in Fist Fight. We see all sorts of popular faces in this movie, such as actors Ice Cube and Charlie Day.

When teacher Mr. Strickland (Ice Cube) flashes at a student, while fellow teacher Mr. Campbell (Charlie Day) was in the class at the time. Mr. Campbell then has a difficult decision whether or not to snitch on Strickland or lie and face the consequences with him. Mr. Strickland’s student, Neil, told on Strickland for destroying his desk with an axe (during his breakdown) and it was on Mr. Campbell weather or not Strickland would face the consequences. This confrontation helped fuel the rest of the dramatic and comedic movie.

An actor that helped fuel the movie was Charlie Day who worried about his job. With his wife pregnant and soon to have his second child, he worried about keeping his job at his school who was laying off lots of teachers. He also worried a lot about staying out of this teacher fight that Strickland challenged him to because of him snitching to save his job, which got Strickland fired.

Charlie Day also changed dramatically throughout, going from a soft pushover who just wanted the fight not to happen, to a fearless rebel who wanted to stick up to his bully (Ice Cube) and show that he has learned something throughout the day. This plot twist helped fuel the movie by changing the mood and effecting the way some of the other characters responded.

The film served as great entertainment with its wonderful cast and lots of different plot twists. Keen used characters that are very well known to pull in his audience and keep them entertained throughout the movie. Actors Charlie Day and Ice Cube do a wonderful job as main characters that don’t get along. Tracy Morgan and Jillian Bell keep the movie entertaining with their adult like humor and cluelessness to what’s going on around them. This all comes together and creates a very wonderful and dramatic plot.

The movie was an hour and thirty minutes and was very intriguing and rarely had moments where it wasn’t entertaining. It included a lot of words that were a little aggressive for this to be a good family movie, but none the less it was a funny movie and I highly recommend it.
