Aurora Mall Rule Enforcements

Friday 27, 2013 Town Center Mall at Aurora, commonly known as The Aurora Mall, was in full swing right after the holidays causing the mall cops to strongly enforce their rules. The Aurora Mall is known for being strict in regards to adolescents shopping alone.

On that Friday a group of approximately 15-17 kids felt as if the “mall cops” had pushed the limit with their constant harassment.

As a group they decided to leave all at once outside, cheered, then they stopped at the front door and call came back in. What happened next, I believe, was ridiculous and embarrassing for the Aurora Mall.

About five or six Aurora police cars arrived and stormed into the mall with billy clubs at hand. Again, there were no fights and no mishchief at all. They then kicked out everyone involved in the walk out.

I personally saw the walkout as something brave, something I wouldn’t even consider doing in fear of the outcome. For a group of young people to decide to prove a point in a very mature manner was extremely cool to witness. I believe that the “mall cops” took the situation out of hand.
